A new composting system has been put in place at the local Te Kūiti māra, in a bid to encourage the community to compost their food waste. Māra manager, Michelle Wi says her ultimate goal is for whānau to use the compost so that they can create their own māra and become more self sustainable.
MFM went along to the māra’s first ever composting wānanga where tauira got to see first-hand how the CarbonCycle Composting structure works.
