Learning about Matariki has been an integral part of Āria School for over ten years. To celebrate the rising of Matariki this year, tamariki performed a bracket in front of their whānau which tells the story of the significant landmarks surrounding their kura.Āria School Principal Pam Voyce says it’s important for tamariki to know the history of the area, and the knowledge surrounding Matariki. What better way to do this than through waiata and bringing together whānau.
