It’s been over a decade in the making and work on Te Kūiti’s new sports and recreation stadium is finally underway. To mark the event, Ngāti Rōrā, alongside the Waitomo District Council and Game On Trust gathered for a turning of the sod ceremony.

Former principal of Te Kūiti High School Bruce Stephens played an integral role in the planning of the facility, and says whānau will benefit hugely from what will be the hub of sports in Te Nehenehenui.
