Two years ago, Ngāti Mahuta uri and former professional rugby player Jackson Willison contracted Covid-19 at a super spreader event in the UK.
He has since moved back to Aotearoa and works as a mentor for Thrive in Ōtorohanga. Although it’s been two years since he contracted the virus, he’s still experiencing what is known as ‘long covid’, where the effects and symptoms of covid are still felt months beyond the initial illness.
