It was a day they’d been waiting for for a long time, and just last week kaumātua from within Ngāti Maniapoto and neighbouring iwi came together for the annual Kaumātua Games in Te Kūiti.
While it was a chance to showcase their skills and talent, it was – more importantly- a time for kaumātua to re-connect after a two-year hiatus due to covid.
