A special moment was captured at the weekend, when Ngāti Hinewai uri and MFM General Manager Raniera Winikerei was unexpectedly given the honour of releasing 40-year-old matriarch kiwi ‘Anahera’ into Terawhiti Station in Te Whanganui-a-Tara.
Anahera was accompanied by Ngāti Hinewai and Ngāti Urunūmia to her new home, after spending the past 42 years in the dedicated care of the Ōtorohanga Kiwi House.
