Representatives of Ngāti Kinohaku presented a petition to the Waitomo District Council today calling for the speed limit on Ōpārure Road in front of Te Wharekura o Maniapoto and Te Kōhanga reo o Ōpārure to be reduced.
They say not only is the current speed limit dangerous and unsafe for tamariki, but the condition of the road also continues to be of concern for whānau of the valley.
